PORTLAND, Ore. – A small landslide in the eastbound lane of West Burnside Road near Northwest Skyline Boulevard caused the Portland Bureau of Transportation to close the roadway in both directions Friday.

The Portland Bureau of Transportation closed West Burnside Road in both directions between Southwest Barnes Road and Northwest Skyline Boulevard due to the slide.

PBOT said this is the larges slide on a city street in about two years.

Officials expect the stretch of road will remain closed through the day Friday.

A KATU photographer visited the scene and said motorists should use caution in the area.

PBOT said drivers should use alternate routes.
