PORTLAND, Ore. – Three people were taken to a hospital Wednesday morning after a fire at an assisted living facility in Southwest Portland, Metro West Ambulance said.

Emergency personnel responded to the two-alarm fire at Regency Park on Southwest Barnes Road at around 9:15 a.m.

Staff at the facility evacuated residents as firefighters arrived on scene.

It was rainy and cold at the time and staff were working to keep the residents and patients warm.

TriMet brought in a bus to help shelter the evacuated residents.

Firefighters quickly located the fire on the bottom floor of the building and extinguished it.

Metro West said the three people it transported to hospitals suffered non-critical injuries.
