PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Town of Sublimity, 30 miles southeast of Salem, is providing cloth face masks to all its residents in light of COVID-19 concerns.
The town says anyone in need can ask for one directly from city council.
The city and neighbors donated the materials and then volunteers got to work putting them together by hand. In total, more than 12,000 masks were made for the town that has a population of 3000.
They first started out by giving them to vulnerable citizens and those in rehab and long-term care at Marian Estates. That facility in particular had one coronavirus-related death and 16 positive cases.
