Woodburn police arrest woman on charges related to child sexual assault case

WOODBURN, Ore. – A Marion County grand jury indicted a woman on charges related to a child sexual assault case Friday.

Police said 48-year-old Melinda Avila, of Woodburn, was arrested Thursday on a secret indictment and warrant. She’s facing two counts of felony witness tampering and one count of felony identity theft.

She was lodged in the Marion County Jail.
