Andrew McMurry couldn't have imagined this would be his career.

"I never thought it would go to what it is now," he said.

Back when he was about 17 years old, this young Arkansas filmmaker began posting videos on a YouTube channel showcasing different digital effects he could implement in things he filmed.

"I can put my videos here,” McMurry recalled, “and I can get this link and then just show people just like, ‘Hey, does this look cool to you?’"

From those early videos, McMurry began dabbling in 3-D effects. Specifically, ones with a bit of nostalgia.

"People can be like, ‘Oh, I remember that from my childhood,'" he said.

By mixing the real world with the worlds of Nintendo, Nerf and LEGO, McMurry’s channel, Nukazooka, grew. Currently, it has nearly two million subscribers.

"It just blew up,” McMurry said.

Every month, McMurry, along with his girlfriend Raven and writing partner Park, come up with ideas for content to put on the channel and then they film them right here in Arkansas. Some take a few days to put together while others, like their latest video involving animated LEGOs, take months.

"When they think of my channel I want them to think of something different,” McMurry said. "Something out of the norm."

The quick wit and humor in each video has brought millions of views to Nukazooka. McMurry's most popular video, “Minecraft vs. Mario,” has 67 million views.

"It feels just like we're kids,” he said, “like we're just playing around. We have a camera, we're going out, we have these props and all that kind of stuff."

His creativity has given McMurry the ability to make this a full-time job.

Something he never could have imagined as a teen.

"I feel so thankful but I also don't want it to stop me in my tracks," said McMurry. "I just want to keep going and keep entertaining people. That's it."

Not only are these videos entertaining to watch, but McMurry tells KATV that Nintendo has reached out to him in the past to tell him how much they love the videos he's done involving some of their most popular characters.
