After requesting proposals for a "golf entertainment facility" last month to fill an 18-acre lot in War Memorial Park, the City of Little Rock has received no valid proposals.

The city closed War Memorial Golf Course last year over budget issues, leaving the lot vacant. Since then, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. has been vocal about bringing Topgolf, a sports entertainment company, to Little Rock. In February of 2019, Scott said city officials had met with the Dallas-based company to discuss real estate options.

On July 1, the city requested proposals for a facility that would provide year-round golf entertainment and food and beverage services. A city committee was set to review bids on Wednesday. But the city didn't receive a valid proposal from Topgolf, or anyone else, officials said.

The city received only one response to the request for bids. Renaissance Roofing responded "Not Interested," city spokesperson Lamor Williams said. The mayor did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
