It was a big day for Arkansas Democrats as presidential candidate and Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar made a stop in Little Rock.

She started her day with a press conference on gun reform and ended it with her supporters at South on Main.

The Minnesota politician spoke about bridging the rural-urban divide in many states, Arkansas is one of them. She also runs on a variety of issues like affordable healthcare, online consumer protection, and immigration reform.

Earlier this afternoon, the Arkansas GOP released a statement on the senator’s appearance here in Little Rock, saying in part, “From a political standpoint, this move screams inexperience on behalf of her staff and is a clear sign that the Klobuchar campaign is doomed to fail if it has not already.”

In response, the senator couldn't help but laugh, adding, "I think it screams that I'd be a good president because I don't think that Democrats should ignore going to places like Arkansas. That's literally how I have run my politics. I just go everywhere. You're not going to get every vote. But people start saying, you know what, at least she's listening to me, she's willing to come out to my area even though there are more republicans there. And that's how I think we need to start thinking of our country. We have to look at what binds us together is a lot more than what divides us. And Arkansas in the past has been a really important part of the political life here."

On the national stage, Senator Klobuchar has qualified for next month's Democratic debate.
