A man shot Friday in Little Rock gave police different accounts of how it happened, police reported.

Officers were called at 9:08 p.m. to 1820 S. Battery St., just north of Wright Avenue. Caleb Malachi, 25, said someone had shot him in his right arm as he was walking toward his home, according to a police report. A woman identified as a resident of the home, Stephanie Clay, 57, said she'd heard gunfire outside but did not see the shooting.

Malachi was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment.

Police said that Malachi and Clay changed their stories after he was hospitalized. Malachi reportedly said a black man wearing a black jacket had shot him inside his home. Clay's story "continued to change," the report says.

Officers searched the home and a found a 26-year-old Little Rock man in a bedroom. He was arrested on an unrelated warrant.

No charges had been filed in the shooting.
