Little Rock police are investigating after a man was injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night.

Officers were called about 11:20 p.m. to UAMS Medical Center, where Demond Lewis was being treated for a gunshot wound. Lewis, 19, told police he was walking around Baseline Elementary School in the 3600 block of Baseline Road when a red Honda traveled past him and turned around, according to a police report. The Honda traveled toward him and someone inside began shooting out of a rear passenger window. Lewis was shot in his right ankle.

A stranger in white Jeep Liberty found Lewis and drove him to the hospital, according to the report.

There was no description of a shooter.
