Nightlife and entertainment are growing in the Capital City and in North Little Rock.

The Argenta District has several projects going on -- two buildings on Main Street will house several businesses, and a plaza with a fountain will sit across the street.

"Downtown North Little Rock is the front porch for our entire city. It belongs to everyone from Rose City, Lakewood, Indian Hills. Everyone in North Little Rock owns downtown. So this is our gathering place, this is where we come as a community," Nathan Hamilton with the city said.

Although it's not a done-deal just yet, Hamilton says a food hall that would have six restaurants is also in the works.

"These entertainment districts is an excellent way to show off our city," Hamilton added.

The Argenta Plaza is expected to be ready by wintertime, and the possible food hall, projected to open in the Spring of 2020.

Across the river, Little Rock's River Market prepares to open the city's first-ever entertainment district -- where patrons can drink publicly.

"If you want to get a mimosa at a coffee shop and carouse the farmer's market that's why," Diana Long with the River Market explained.

The entertainment district will span President Clinton Avenue from South Cumberland to I-30. Click here for the times of day you can drink in the entertainment district.

"We're excited to lead the city on being the first area to do this," Long added.

The entertainment district will become a reality on August 23.
