Little Rock police are investigating an early morning shooting that left two teens injured.

According to police, officers were called out to a residence on Sheraton Drive around 2:40 a.m. Thursday morning after a victim called and said she had been shot in the head. When officers arrived on the scene, they found two 17-year-old females suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police say one of the victims had four gunshot wounds in the lower back and another to her right arm. The second victim was bleeding from the left side of her head above her ear.

According to police, the victims told them they were in the living room with Darion Richard, 18, when they heard shots coming from the back door. Police say they found multiple gunshots to the backdoor and in the front of the residence as well as multiple shell casings in the street.

Both victims were transported to Arkansas Children's hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Richard was not injured.

Police say as officers were talking with the victims, Martavious Ward, 19, Kareem Fudail, 18, and a 16-year-old were asked to stay until an officer could speak with them about what happened. Ward, Fudail, and the 16-year-old then jumped into a 2019 black Kia Optima and attempted to drive away, according to police. Officers were able to catch them and all three were detained for questioning.
