A man has died following an altercation between him and an employee at a North Little Rock fast food restaurant.

Despite having a man thrown through their side window, now boarded up, Chicken King opened for business Wednesday.

On Thursday, police identified the man as 33-year-old Deangelo Sargent of North Little Rock.

Chicken King is a neighborhood hot spot that city residents think may have gotten too heated.

"I still love my chicken, but it's not going to be the same," Ronald Black said.

Police blocked off areas of the intersection of MacArthur Drive and Pike Avenue Tuesday afternoon after getting a call that someone had gone through a plate glass window and was severely injured.

"It's sad. It's sad. Especially over fighting, you know?" Liquor 4 Less employee Para Lee Chrestman said.

Chrestman was working at Liquor 4 Less next door to Chicken King when the incident happened.

"He went running across the SuperStop and he was bleedin' real bad, and we didn't know if he had been shot or stabbed or what," Chrestman said.

Police told her the man who went through the window flatlined at the Shell gas station across the street.

Chrestman says she doesn't know what she would have done if the man had run into her store in that condition.

"It's very sad for the community. It's not going to be the same," Black said.

This is the second death in North Little Rock in the past week. City residents are hoping this doesn't become a trend for the rest of the year.

"Just be careful and pray for our community because it's been a lot going on, and it's been a lot going on in 2019. It's 2020, so just be careful," Black said.

SuperStop employees who were working when the man showed up to the gas station had no comment to give regarding the incident.

No arrests have been made in connection to the incident at this time. Detectives are still conducting interviews to find out what may have led to the original altercation between the involved employees.
