Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. on Tuesday announced the final four candidates to become the police department's new chief.

Two of the candidates come from within the department, assistant chiefs Alice Fulk and Hayward Finks.

Also named as finalists were Keith Humphrey, chief of the Norman Police Department in Oklahoma, and Todd Chamberlain, a retired Los Angeles Police Department commander.

The city will host community forums with the candidates in the coming weeks, according to a news release.

“There were many exceptional candidates to be the next Little Rock Police Chief,” Scott said in the release. “However these four emerged as the most outstanding to lead our police department forward. I look forward to continuing to learn more about them in the coming weeks and hear feedback from our community."

The position has been vacant since former chief Kenton Buckner left the department in November.

Lawmen from Atlanta, Dallas and Chicago were among the applicants.
