Police investigate after 2 shot in Little Rock

Police are investigating after two people were shot Saturday in Little Rock.

Officers were called at 11:08 p.m. to 1612 W. 19th St., a residential area south of Wright Avenue. A man told officers that he heard gunshots and that his roommate, Ricky Gaston, 60, ran inside soon afterward, according to a police report. Gaston had been shot in the face.

Gaston was taken to UAMS Medical Center for treatment. Police said he was in stable condition.

Officers searching the area of the shooting found a second man who'd been injured, according to the report. Gary Freeman, 55, was shot multiple times. He was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center for treatment.

The shooter was described only as a black man wearing a red jacket. A more detailed description was unavailable.
