LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured early Wednesday in Little Rock.
Officers were called at 3:28 a.m. to Baptist Health Medical Center, where Oquze Hampton was being treated for a gunshot wound to his right shoulder, according to a police report. Hampton, 19, said he'd been outside a Fast Mart convenience store at 9203 Chicot Road when he noticed a gray GMC across the street. A window in the vehicle rolled down and Hampton saw two muzzle flashes come from the vehicle.
Hampton said he started to run and was shot from behind, according to the report. He then blacked out.
Police said Hampton's injuries were not life-threatening. He was released from the hospital after speaking to investigators.
There was no description of a shooter. A more detailed description of the GMC was not available.
