KATV content reporter 5NEWS reports that a Springdale man was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Wednesday for the murders of his mother and stepfather in 2016.

30-year-old Dustin Price was arrested in August of 2016 on two charges of capital murder, along with charges of first-degree battery, terroristic threatening on a police officer, residential burglary, and misdemeanor third-degree battery.

Price was accused of killing his mother, 47-year-old Theresa Hendershot and his stepfather 47-year-old James Hendershot of Springdale. He was also accused of stabbing his roommate, 52-year-old Daniel Teyhen, at another location.

He pleaded guilty to both murder charges. Teyhen was stabbed multiple times but survived.

According to court records, Price had a history of psychosis. Records showed that he had been arrested several times in northwest Arkansas since he turned 18. He was found not guilty by reason of mental defect in several cases.
