A homeowner in Hillcrest says he found a strange woman making her self at home in his guest house.

The bold and bizarre break-in led Jay Calhoun face-to-face with the suspect.

"I walked inside, and standing about six feet in front of me I saw someone standing in my living room," Calhoun said.

Calhoun says he was going to check on his guesthouse off Kavanaugh Boulevard when he discovered something was off.

"I asked her who she was, and she made up a story of having permission to be there and knowing somebody," he said.

Calhoun says the woman was holding a bag of his family's belongings, and even used the kitchen to warm up some food.

"I believe she had also taken a shower, and was dressed in my wife and sister's clothes," he said. "There were lots of red flags. "

When he called 911, Calhoun says the woman tried to escape. "I had to kind of forcibly hold her from getting out the door," he said.

Police arrived and arrested the woman, identifying her as 35-year-old Claire Belmontes.

"They told me they've seen her before, this isn't the first time they've had a run-in with this particular woman," Calhoun said.

While there is no real explanation to the turn of events, Calhoun has a theory. "I think there may be some drugs involved," he said.

Meanwhile, Calhoun is checking his locks and taking extra precautions. He says it's hard to believe someone was staying here without anyone knowing.

"I'm sorry, but you can't break into people's homes and get away with it," he said.

Calhoun says he's not sure how long the woman was staying in his guest house, but he believes she's been there more than once.

Little Rock police say Claire Belmontes has been charged with residential burglary and theft of property.
