The University of Central Arkansas has released more details in the student fatal pedestrian accident that happened Jan. 8 around 7:32 p.m.

According to the police report, police say Rebekah Harpool was hit by another student, who was driving a Jeep in the parking lot of the HPER Center.

The student driving the Jeep says he didn't see her and she came out of nowhere, according to the report.

After the accident, Harpool was rushed to a nearby hospital where she died Thursday morning.

Officers say the student did not appear to be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and was cooperative.

He told the police he was not on his phone while driving and turned over his phone for the investigation.

Witnesses in the area say that they saw Harpool was walking across the grassy median that was just north of her car, but there were no eyewitnesses to the accident itself.

Surveillance video from the parking lot does not show the incident, but it did capture the student driving the Jeep in the parking lot.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
