Minutes after winning the Sun Belt championship game, Appalachian State head coach Eli Drinkwitz was asked about reports linking him to Arkansas.

An Alma native, the 36-year-old worked at Alma and Springdale high schools, as well as Arkansas State. He is in his first and only season as a head coach.

Drinkwitz initially dismissed the reports as "fake news." He did leave the door open, though.

"At the same time, every opportunity, I owe it to my family to see if that's something that we're interested in.

A reporter asked point blank if he's heard from Arkansas.

"Well I haven't checked my phones yet but I mean, we'll see. I don't know."
