HERMISTON, Ore. — Umatilla County Sheriff’s office is still looking for two boaters in the Columbia River along US Highway 730 near milepost 195.

Umatilla County 911 dispatch center received a report that two adults had been hanging onto the back of a boat while the boat was heading to Bobby's Beach. When the boat arrived on shore the two adult boaters were missing, according to Umatilla County Sheriff's Office.

Crews from Umatilla County, Morrow County and Benton County are on scene searching for a woman and another person. According to Umatilla County deputies, they do not believe the two people were wearing life jacket.

Authorities have been searching since 7:30 Saturday night. The efforts to locate the missing boaters went on until 1:00am before they suspended the search due to the dark. The search resumed at 8:00 Sunday morning.

According to officials, members of the United States Army Corp of Engineers, Columbia Basin Dive Rescue, and Lifeflight Air Ambulance are on scene and have conducted shore line, air and water searches.
