New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state officials held a news conference Wednesday to provide an update on COVID-19.

Lujan Grisham announced 155 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday and 12 new deaths related to the virus.

New Mexico now has a total of 5,364 cases and 231 deaths related to COVID-19.

According to the governor, there are currently 200 people hospitalized for COVID-19 in New Mexico, 52 of which are on ventilators.

New Mexico has tested a total of 115,011 people for COVID-19 statewide, according to state officials.

According to the New Mexico Department of Health, 1,515 of New Mexico's COVID-19 cases are now considered recovered.

For a breakdown of COVID-19 cases in New Mexico, the Department of Health has set up a COVID-19 Portal.

State officials said New Mexico is at the early stages of seeing a downward trend in COVID-19 cases.

Lujan Grisham is amending public health orders in the state to allow retailers to operate at 25% of fire code capacity, with the exception of businesses in Cibola, McKinley and San Juan Counties.

Non-essential businesses in non-excluded counties can also open at 25% of pre-crisis staffing levels but are encouraged to continue work-from-home wherever possible.

The governor's amended order also allows for houses of worship to operate at 10% occupancy in non-excluded counties.

High-intensity contact services such as dine-in at restaurants, indoor malls, salons and gyms are not permitted to begin reopening under the governor's amended order.
