A 29-year-old Cheyenne man being sought on multiple charges, including strangulation, is behind bars after allegedly trashing his mom's house.

Court records say police were called to a possible domestic disturbance at 709 Broken Wheel Ct. on Nov. 15 after a witness reported seeing Guy Meyer breaking the house windows out with a shovel.

Officers made contact with Meyer outside the house and, knowing he had a felony warrant from Laramie County Circuit Court, arrested him.

When police went inside the house to check for a possible victim, they observed broken glass throughout the home, a broken big screen TV, the refrigerator pushed over, holes in the dry wall and other broken items.

The estimated value for repairs inside and outside of the home was well over $1,000, according to an affidavit.

Police say Meyer's mom arrived shortly afterwards and told them that due to past issues, Meyer was not allowed to be at her house. They say it appears Meyer, who didn't have a key, broke in through a window or by forcing a door open.

While being taken to jail, Meyer reportedly started kicking the windows and ceiling of the patrol vehicle. He was eventually pulled out of the vehicle and put into a WRAP restraining device.

Meyer was charged with felony property destruction, burglary and resisting arrest. He's also charged with strangulation, domestic battery and two counts of misdemeanor property destruction stemming from an Oct. 25 incident in which he allegedly choked his girlfriend.

If convicted on all seven charges, Meyer could face up to 32 1/2 years in prison.

Meyer is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $5,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26 at 3 p.m.
