PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man stabbed a pit bull that confronted him and while he was walking his own dogs Saturday morning in Cornelius.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a man attacking a dog near railroad tracks on N 10th Avenue. The man told deputies the pit bull was being aggressive and attacked on of his dogs. He stabbed the pit bull to protect himself and his dogs.

The man’s dog received minor injuries but the pit bull had to be euthanized at a veterinary clinic.

Deputies don’t know who owned the pit bull. It was an adult male. Anyone with information should call 503.629.0111.
