SEATTLE -- Pier 58 along Seattle's waterfront is closed after engineers found it was moving away from the seawall.
The city says the pier is moving to the west while the seawall is staying in place -- causing a gap several inches wide.
Engineers are inspecting the pier, which spans between the Seattle Aquarium and the Great Wheel, and we're expecting an update on its condition from the city Tuesday morning.
This comes as a new park is in the works set to be complete by 2024.
Demolition on the current pier is scheduled to start next year.
