JEFFERSON CITY — The recent tornado and flood raised fears Fourth of July activities might be cut short.
The Red, White, and Boom Fireworks Program in downtown Jefferson City is still on.
Penny Smith the Event Coordinator for Salute to America said the flooding can affect where people park to watch the fireworks.
She said everything is going to be the exact same unless flooding gets worse.
Smith said this is a big event for the community to come together after the tornado and flooding.
"People I've talked to have said their ready for celebrations, something to get away from all of that and just have fun," Smith said.
Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
