A Southern Boone teacher was sentenced guilty to charges of first degree stalking.

Teneil Stevenson, 35, of Jefferson City pleaded guilty to first-degree stalking and was sentenced Monday to three years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Stevenson was originally indicted by a grand jury last September in a Callaway County on a single count of attempted enticement of a child between May 1 and Aug. 31 of 2018.

The indictment stated Stevenson sent sexually suggestive electronic messages and photos to a child under the age of 15. Documents did not specify the community or school where the incident occurred.

Stevenson was certified by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to teach healthy and physical education.
