Shelters for families displaced from the tornado in Eldon and Jefferson City merged together and moved to a new shelter location in Russellville.

The two shelters made the decision to merge in an effort to make resources more accessible for families still in need.

Since the EF3 tornado tore through the area, the American Red Cross has helped families get back on their feet.

The shelters were more than just physical resources, but also provided psychological aid and a safe place for victims to talk.

The Eldon shelter made the move first on Sunday, but shelter managers said no families from Eldon were still in need of their assistance.

Jefferson City's shelter packed up and moved to the Russellville Baptist Church located at 5209 Simpson Street Tuesday morning.

Donations can be made to the American Red Cross online or clothing donations can be brought to the Salvation Army, who will then pass those items onto the Red Cross.
