JEFFERSON CITY — The third annual Jefferson City Red Dress River Run took place on Saturday night.
Participants put on their red tutus and running shoes on to participate in either the 5K or 10K.
Participants ran across the Missouri River bridge, with all proceeds benefiting the American Heart Association.
Kim Robertson the Director for the Heart Association in Jefferson City said around 60 people registered for the race.
She said it is all about awareness of the cause.
“I think heart disease is one of those things we don’t think about," Robertson said. "We think about all these other risk factors in our health and heart disease is controllable, you know we can eat healthy and move more and really control our risk factors.”
Tammy Miller a participant of the event said everyone probably knows someone that has been affected by heart disease
