The Piccadilly in White took place in downtown Jefferson City Saturday night. It was the sixth annual event.

Downtown supporters gathered on High Street to eat, listen to music and bid on items.

Crystal Tellman, past President of Downtown Jefferson City, said it is a Piccadilly style auction where you have a paddle number to bid on items.

Tellman said the items that are bid on are worth hundreds of dollars but go for only $1 to $5 dollars.

She said the funds raised are to help downtown Jefferson City with various projects throughout the year.

"The flowers, cleaning the sidewalks, the wave finding signs that you see downtown, we actually did a donation of $10,000 with the first Piccadilly," Tellman said. "We pay for Christmas lights that you see, so that the businesses don't have to pay for them themselves, and those are very expensive and their beautiful and definitely a staple of downtown."

Tellman said everyone that supports the event has a passion for growing downtown.
