PHOENIX — Some Circle K gas stations across Arizona have run out of fuel, the company said Monday, and it could be several days before full capacity is restored.
In an emailed statement, Circle K attributed the shortage to a “perfect storm” of unforeseen circumstances that included “isolated issues with its pipeline, refinery supply source and ethanol distribution.”
The problem was made worse, the statement said, by the seasonal switch to cleaner-burning gas and high spring break demand.
“We expect it will be several more days before we are back to full capacity,” Tim Tourek, Circle K vice president of Arizona operations, said in the statement.
“We greatly appreciate the patience of our customers as we do all we can to return to business as usual as soon as possible.”
The company did not specify which stores were affected.
KTAR News 92.3 FM confirmed that two locations — 24th Street and Indian School Road, and 32nd Street and Broadway Road — didn’t have gas.
More griping over gas! But this time it’s not about prices. This Circle K in Central Phoenix is like many others in the Valley that are completely out of gas. With diesel only and minimal signs many patrons are running on empty when it comes to gas and patience. @KTAR923 pic.twitter.com/eQVJ2FfAVY

ABC15 found three other Phoenix stations without fuel: 36th and Oak streets, 40th Street and McDowell Road, and 32nd and Van Buren streets.
Some reporters in Tucson posted on social media that local Circle K stations were out of gas.
Gassed out from the weekend?
Employee at #CircleK tells me stations in the Tucson-area are out due to a distribution problem. She didn’t know when they would be getting more.
