Coweta High School students created ornaments for the Oklahoma Christmas tree on the Ellipse in President's Park.

The 56 small trees surround the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C., and represent each U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia as part of the "America Celebrates" display.

Each of the trees is decorated with ornaments created by students across the country.

The students made ornaments that celebrate their state, district or territory.

Over 1,500 students across the country participated in this year's project, funded by the National Park Foundation.

The "America Celebrates" display is part of the National Christmas Tree experience, which begins Thursday with the 97th Annual National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
