LAKEVIEW, Ore. — A fire ripped through a warehouse building on the compound of the U.S. Forest Service Fremont-Winema National Forest Lakeview Ranger District on Thursday night.
The structure fire was reported around 7:40 p.m. and smoke was visible throughout Lakeview. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by an area fire marshal.
"There were no injuries as a result of the fire," Fremont-Winema National Forest said in a media release. "Approximately four employees staying in the barracks on site were relocated to a local hotel for the night as fire suppression activities continue."
The warehouse building is approximately 3,200 square feet and is primarily used as a storage building. It is located just inside of the compound date.
