3 people killed, 1 critically injured in head-on crash south of Sweetwater

NOLAN COUNTY, Texas — Three people were killed, and a fourth critically injured, in a head-on crash in Nolan County.

The crash involving two cars happened around 7 p.m. on Highway 53, north of Turkey Track Ranch in Blackwell.

A man in the blue Toyota was killed.

A man and woman in the white Dodge Charger were also killed.

A woman in the back seat of the Charger was flown to the hospital.

No word on what caused the crash.

As of 10 p.m., crews were still working to clear the scene and traffic was backed up for miles in each direction.

The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
