(KUTV) — To help stop the spread of COVID-19 and preserve personal protective equipment for medical staff, the University of Utah Health is now accepting cloth face coverings.
The coverings will be given to patients, visitors and staff in non-clinical settings, according to a press release.
Donations can be dropped off at bins located throughout northern Utah:
The donated cloth coverings will be cleaned and decontaminated by the University of Utah Hospital Laundry Services before they are transported to a bagging room.
Hospital employees will handle the masks wearing appropriate PPE and each mask will be individually bagged.
