Fire burns 4,100 acres in Tooele County, 20% contained

A wildfire that has burned more than 4,100 acres in Tooele County is only 20% contained.

Utah Fire Info reports the Tabby Canyon Fire was started on Saturday by an exploding target, which are restricted in the area year-round.

Access to Stansbury Island and the trail there is limited to emergency personal until further notice.

At least 135 fire personnel from Bureau of Land Management, Forest Service, State of Utah, city of Grantsville and contractors are helping contain the flames.

Utah Fire Info reports the blaze is burning through grass, sagebrush, juniper on steep and rugged mountainous terrain.

No structures are currently being threatened.
