LDS missionary dies after collapsing at the South Africa Missionary Training Center

(KUTV) -- A missionary with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint died while serving in South Africa, a press release stated.

Elder Zane Lamping, 19, is from Moapa, Nevada.

He was assigned to serve in the South Africa Johannesburg Mission and entered the MTC on November 22.

Lamping reportedly collapsed after exercising and he later passed away at a local hospital.

The cause of his death is unknown.

A statement released by Daniel Woodruff, a Church spokesperson, said,

Our hearts go out to his family and loved ones.
