(KUTV) — Another popular chain restaurant is closing its doors in Utah.
Perkins & Marie Callender's, LLC began Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings Monday in Delaware, according to a press release.
A note posted on the door of Marie Callender's in Salt Lake City thanked customers for their service and announced the restaurant's closure.
The company has closed 19 "under-performing" Marie Callender's locations. All other restaurants will remain open and operate as usual, a press release stated.
“Our intention moving forward is to minimize disruptions and ensure that the sale process is as seamless to our guests, employees, and vendors as possible," Jeff Warne, president and CEO of Perkins & Marie Callender’s, LLC stated in a press release.
Marie Callender's combined with Perkins Restaurants in 2006. The popular chain has 7 company and 21 franchised restaurants.
