(KUTV) — Firefighters in Utah County are battling a small wildfire that started after a pickup truck containing two teenagers caught fire, according to Sgt. Spencer Cannon with the Utah County Sheriff's Department.
A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl were in their pickup truck on Dry Canyon Road in the Manti-La Sal National Forest when, for unknown reasons, the truck caught fire, igniting the dry brush around it.
Utah County Fire Inspector Randy Crowther says the fire started about 5:00 p.m. and is three to five acres in size.
Crews from at least five departments are helping including those from the U.S. Forest Service, and fire departments from Utah County, Salem, Spanish Fork and the state of Utah.
An investigation is underway into the cause.
No word of any criminal charges. No injuries were reported.
