(KUTV) — Walmarts and Sam's Clubs across Salt Lake City are raising money for Primary Children's Hospital.
Now through July 7, all Salt Lake City Walmarts and Sam's Clubs have begun their fundraising campaigns for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) to help treat local children who are sick or injured. All money raised during the Salt Lake City CMN Hospitals campaign will go directly to Primary Children's Hospital to fund critical treatments, pediatric medical equipment, research and charitable care, according to a Tuesday press release.
According to the press release, Walmarts and Sam's Clubs in Salt Lake City have raised over $13 million for Primary Children's Hospital, most of it one dollar at a time. Nationally, Walmart and Sam's Club has raised more than $1 billion for CMN Hospitals, which is the largest cash amount ever raised by one organization for a nonprofit in North America, according to the press release.
Here's how you can participate:
Through the leadership of founder Sam Walton, Walmart and Sam's Club joined the CMN Hospitals fundraising efforts in 1987. The annual campaign supports Walmart's core belief of leveraging the company's strength to give back to their local communities.
