Transgender Utahns take fight for gender change to the Utah Supreme Court

Their battle is to help others who want to change the gender on their birth certificates — and they're taking it all the way to the state supreme court.

It's a gray area in state law currently. Utahns can apply to change the gender on their birth certificate, and a judge will say yes or no.

However, judges in these cases have no guidelines to follow, so whether you're approved or denied can come down to luck for many.
