SALEM, Ore. - A fundraiser is being held Saturday in Salem for the mother and son found murdered last month.

The bodies of Karissa and Billy Fretwell were recovered after both went missing for nearly a month.

Money raised at the auction will go towards funeral costs for the family, as well as a scholarship set up in honor of Karissa, who was studying to be an English teacher.

Any extra money beyond the need of Karissa's family will be donated to the Oregon Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.

“Honestly if she would have known that was a place of safety and she would've known, as crazy as it was for her, she could've went there and saved her and her son's life,” said Shooter’s Café and Saloon co-owner, Kelly Vetter.

Billy's father, Michael Wolfe, is charged with their murder.

Up to 70 items will be up for auction, including a baseball bat-- signed by Alex Rodriguez-- donated by the community.

The auction will be at Shooters Cafe and Saloon in Salem starting at 2 p.m.
