KEIZER, Ore. - In-N-Out Burger is coming soon to the Keizer Station shopping center, the popular chain's third Oregon location after Medford and Grants Pass.

The news broke last August at a City Council meeting.

Since then, word that a building permit had been issued sparked renewed interest in the chain's first Willamette Valley location.

Work has begun at the construction site.

There's no word yet on when it will be complete, but the company has said it can take 5 from the time it breaks ground until a restaurant opens.

Once complete, the restaurant will be part of a retail complex that also includes REI, Target, Lowe's and other retailers, as well as several national restaurant chains.

"Oregon is considered a new market for In-N-Out," a project manager for the company said in August 2018. "Only two restaurants, Grants Pass and Medford, have been open to date. The City of Keizer will be the third. It will serve as a new entry benchmark into Portland and other metropolitan areas with its presence and brand recognition."

The company dates back to 1948. It now has hundreds of locations in Oregon, California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Utah.
