COOS BAY, Ore. - Coos Bay Shakespeare in the Park presents "As You Like It", for free for two weekends beginning Saturday at 2 pm at Mingus Park.

Director Jane Stebbins describes it as a comedy about human relationships.

"There are some really strong friendships, and some really twisted romantic relationships, and some really cool romantic relationships," Stebbins said.

In a news release, it's "one of the silliest of the Bard's silly plays, this story plays with the many ways love can go awry in the forest of Arden, with whimsical woodland creatures, ribald royalty, and luckless lovers."

Stebbins said she presented the idea to the Coos Bay Shakes because they wanted a comedy and she wanted to put on a show with little to no-costs, transportable set, and a small cast with multiple parts per actor.

"It's really good, tight theatre, with really good actors with solid education and experience in coos bay," Stebbins said.

Bring your chairs, picnic baskets, and friends to enjoy local actors on the stage for the last two weekends in July. A Green Show of music and dancing will precede the play.

Runtime is three hours with intermission, Saturdays and Sundays July 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th at 2:00 pm at the Mingus Park Amphitheater.
