FT. MITCHELL, Ky. (WKRC) - The Cavalcade of Homes kicks off June 6 and features seven Northern Kentucky homes, ranging from $279,000 to about $800,000.

While new homes aren’t cheap, for a lot of people, they’re worth the extra money.

“You’ve got brand new countertops, brand new cabinets,” said Brian Miller, executive vice president of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky. “You’re not spending the kind of energy bills you normally spend on a 100-year-old home.”

Some of the homes on the tour are for sale, but others have already been sold.

In Fort Mitchell, you’ll be able to tour builder Jason Yeager’s home, which he just finished building and moved into two weeks ago.

“It takes a couple of months to design and go through the pricing process, and then, generally speaking, six to eight months to build a custom home,” said Yeager.

While you can’t buy Yeager’s home, the tour is great for giving you ideas.

“Some people want to look at paint colors, some people want to remodel their kitchen, and others want to build,” said Yeager. “It’s perfect for everyone.”

Because of COVID-19, the Cavalcade of Homes tour will look a little different this year.

“If you’re comfortable, bring your own mask,” said Miller. “Bring your own PPE. We’ll be cleaning up after you, but if you can, keep your fingers off the countertops.”

Only ten guests will be allowed in a home at a time and must maintain six feet between one another.

The Calvacade of Homes runs June 6-7, 13-14, and 20-21 from noon to 5 p.m. each day.
