SILVERTON, Ohio (WKRC) - A driver crashed in Silverton Thursday, taking out a utility pole.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the driver lost control on a curve on Stewart Road near the I-71 interchange around 2 p.m. and hit a parked vehicle before striking the utility pole.

The driver was taken to UC Medical Center where he is in critical condition. No one else was hurt.

Deputies believe the driver was going too fast on wet roads at the time of that crash. They also believe alcohol was involved.

Duke Energy crews had to replace the utility pole.
