SILVERTON, Ohio (WKRC) - A local brewery has created a new beer to help wildfire relief efforts in Australia.

Silverton-based Highgrain Brewing says a quarter of the proceeds from its new Australian pale ale, Lil' Joey, will benefit Australian firefighters and wildlife. It will be released on Friday of next week.

The beer will be available both on draft and in four-packs of 16-ounce cans. Highgrain also posted the recipe for Lil' Joey on its website, encouraging other breweries to help.

Historic fires in Australia have engulfed an area roughly the size of the state of Ohio. The environmental disaster has also killed at least 1 billion animals.
