COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - The effects of the government shutdown are still being felt for those who rely on government assistance for food.

Those who receive SNAP benefits in Ohio will get 50 percent of the March benefits early. It will be loaded on Feb. 26. The other half will be put on cards on the normal March load date.

Benefits for February were loaded early in January because of the partial government shutdown.

The new plan for March reportedly came about because the law requires no more than 40 days between benefits.
