Nagaland DTE gives final touches to first-ever ‘Tech Fest’

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) is giving final touches to what it described as the first-ever ‘Tech Fest 2019’ to be held from August 21 to 23 at Government Polytechnic, Kohima.
Under the theme “Redefining Ideas,” the fest will bring the students together and help them experience ‘what is trending in today’s world,’ it said.
In the run-up to the fest, the department has been running various innovative campaigns on social media platforms, particularly on Twitter and Facebook, anticipating the “much awaited” fest.
“Only a day left, no one can be seen idling around,” the DTE posted on its official Facebook page on August 19, sharing the photos of students in final preparation for the event, adding: “Everyone going about with works and responsibilities in their hands, all the works will soon be displayed.”
'The Tech Fest planning Committee had their final discussion about the upcoming event and all the necessary arrangements have been done to provide the best experience to the guest students and technical colleges from different parts of Nagaland,' another DTE's update informed.
According to the department, the ‘Tech Fest’ has been organized for the first time, to bring the students together under one roof and to “illuminate the spark” that has been missing for many years.
It is also aimed at providing opportunities for the students to display a positive engagement in social events as such, demonstrate teamwork and also to promote skill development amongst the students.
Among others, the fest will include activities and competitions on categories such as gaming, robotics, debate, quiz, web designing, bridge designing, photography, paper presentation and project model presentation.
“Come join us as we celebrate the first of its kind event in our state and compete to see who is worthy to stand at the top of their peers,” DTE added.
Renowned artist from different corners of the state are also said to be performing at the fest, “to entertain and give people the much needed stress reliever.”
The fest is all set to begin and create a new history in the Technical department of Nagaland, DTE maintained.
