Walmart drive-in theater coming to Carson City

CARSON CITY, Nev. (News 4 & FOX 11) — The Walmart in Carson City on Market Street will turn its parking lot into a drive-in theater on August 21 and 22.

Walmart announced in July that it would transform 160 of its store parking lots into theaters.

The retail chain said the family-friendly movie nights would include hit movies and concessions would be delivered to customers in their vehicles.

The movie lineup in Carson City has not been released, but Walmart said the films that are in the running to be shown include, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Black Panther, Spy Kids, Ghostbusters, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Space Jam, Wizard of Oz and Friday Night Lights.

Free tickets for the event are available starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 5.

The Carson City Walmart is the only location in Nevada hosting a drive-in movie night.
