Nevada alum Trey Porter signs with team in Hungary's top league

Trey Porter, who started every game for the Nevada basketball team last season, has signed with Atomerm SE, which plays in the top league in Hungary.

ASE is located in Paks, a small town in central Hungary 60 miles south of Budapest. ASE has won four Nemzeti Bajnokság I/A titles and was a quarterfinalist for the championship in the 14-team league last season.

In 34 games for Nevada in 2018-19, Porter averaged 7.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. He shot 60.1 percent from the field and 63.7 percent from the free throw line. The 6-foot-11, 230-pound center played for George Mason and Old Dominion before transferring to Nevada for his senior season.

Porter's career high in scoring average came during his junior season at Old Dominion when he averaged 13.2 points per game. Porter recently took part in the G League Player Invitational in Chicago.
